FG sensitises North-East businesses on ECOWAS, AfCFTA trade opportunities
The Federal Government has launched a sensitisation programme to help Nigerian businesses access trade opportunities under the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Afcfta SECRETARIAT AND BERGMANS SIGN US$3.1 BILLION CONCESSION AGREEMENT FOR CUSTOMS MODERNISATION
ACCRA, 7 AUGUST 2026 – The AfCFTA Secretariat and Bergmans Security Consultants and Supplies Limited have signed a 20-year, US$3.1 billion Concession Agreement for the implementation of the AfCFTA Customs Modernisation Project. The Agreement provides a framework for financing and deploying modern customs digital and physical border infrastructure across participating AfCFTA State Parties through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. It seeks to support the development of smarter, digitally enabled and better-connected customs administrations across the continent.
AfCFTA, Quest Ghana Sign $5.17bn Digital Trade Corridor Deal
The agreement will see the parties develop digital infrastructure covering an African Minerals and Commodities Exchange, a digital marketplace and a continental cross-border interoperable payment system. The Republic of Seychelles will provide sovereign support for the venture, which will be headquartered in Victoria, Seychelles.
